GT Masters: Pommer/Winkelhock in positions six and seven
ADAC GT Masters season opener at Oschersleben: Markus Pommer and Markus Winkelhock in their Phoenix Audi R8 LMS finished the first 60-minute race on Saturday in sixth place. The fastest race lap went to Markus Winkelhock. “We started the race from P3 on the grid, but lost a few positions following our pit stop,” said Markus Pommer.

The two Phoenix drivers finished round two in seventh place. On a drying track in the second qualifying session Markus Pommer just barely missed the right timing for his fastest lap. As a result, the duo started the race from P12 and – in spite of safety car periods – showed a strong recovery to seventh place. “For Oschersleben, this is a good result because overtaking here is difficult,” said Markus Winkelhock. “Our car was very good. Now we’re hoping to be able to really attack at the Sachsenring.”
