DTM: Podium success at the season opener in Hockenheim
Mike Rockenfeller achieves third place in the 2017 DTM season opener.

Phoenix Racing celebrated the beginning of the 2017 season with a podium result. From the sixteenth starting position, Mike Rockenfeller, with his Schaeffler Audi RS 5 DTM, finished on the podium. After an early pit stop, Rockenfeller fought his way to the front and ended the race in third position. "It was a great race! After a difficult qualifying session, it was awesome to come back so strong! Thanks to the team for a great strategy," said a very happy Rockenfeller." Loïc Duval also moved up during the race, improving his position by four places. However, the Frenchman did not score any points with fourteenth place.

The second race of the DTM season opener at Hockenheim will take place at 15:18 on Sunday, 7 May.
