The Hong Kong-Chinese duo qualified in third place on the grid in their Audi R8 LMS from Phoenix Racing. At turn 1 in the race, Lee improved to second place. After a mistake from the leading car, he took over the lead during the first lap.
In the compulsory pit stop with the change of drivers in the middle of the race, the number 5 R8 LMS had to serve a time penalty for successes in the previous Blancpain GT Series Asia race weekend. With these seven additional seconds, Shaun Thong, who took over in the second half of the race, returned to second place, but managed to take the lead after only a few corners. Thong then had a lead of 16.5 seconds when crossing the finish line. It was the first win of the season for Phoenix in the Asian sports car series.
In the second race, Lee/Thong missed out on the points in 14th. The second Phoenix car with the drivers Alex Yoong and Alex Au, however, secured two points with ninth place.
