VLN: Stippler/Terting on podium
Phoenix Racing took third place in race five of the VLN Endurance Championship Nürburgring.

In qualifying for the “ROWE 6 Stunden ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen,” Frank Stippler and Peter Terting in the Audi R8 LMS of Phoenix Racing being clocked at 8m 14.652s qualified for position six on the grid.

Right at the beginning of the race, the car designated as number 15 made up two positions. At the end of the first hour, the Audi vaulted from fourth to first place within the space of just one lap.

In the subsequent hours, the teams were struggling with difficult weather conditions. Dry phases alternated with heavy rain and forced them to change tires several times. The Phoenix Audi was battling in the group of the front runners for top positions throughout the race and ultimately crossed the finish line in third place.

“That was really a very turbulent race, so from that perspective, we’re definitely happy with third place,” said Phoenix Team Manager Dirk Theimann. “Peter Terting contested his first major race on the Nordschleife. Just like Frank Stippler, he showed a very good performance.”
