DTM: Timo Scheider clinches position nine at Moscow
In race one of the DTM weekend at the Moscow Raceway, Timo Scheider achieved a respectable ninth place. As a result, he scored points for the drivers’ classification for the second time this season. Mike Rockenfeller made up seven positions and finished in sixteenth place.

In conditions of poor visibility due to constant rain, the field initially started behind the safety car. Up to the race’s midpoint, Timo Scheider was running in seventh place. He subsequently let his Audi brand colleagues Mortara and Green, who are in promising positions of the drivers’ standings, overtake him. Mike Rockenfeller started the race from grid position 23 and battled his way forward to sixteenth place. “Our pace was good especially at the beginning of the race. Unfortunately, the windshield wiper failed, which made the visibility conditions even more difficult. For me it was clear that I’d let Edo and Jamie pass me. In the end, I’m happy with position nine,” said Scheider.
