Blancpain: Møller Madsen and Pommer were best in Silver Cup class
The two Phoenix drivers Nicolaj Møller Madsen and Markus celebrated their international GT racing premiere in the prestigious Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup season opener held in Misano, Italy. The two drivers were the best in the Silver Cup at the end of the 60-minute sprint race.

In contrast, Markus Winkelhock and Niki Mayr-Melnhof were plagued by bad luck. Two drive through penalties put paid to a successful main race. “Despite the generally difficult weekend I’m absolutely delighted for Nicolaj and Markus. Both can be more than satisfied with this first GT races. We were able to lap as fast as the leading cars even though we trailing behind with the Audi R8 LMS #6 because of the drive through penalties. For us it was very important to see that we are very competitive. Both Audis ran exceptionally well,” summarized Team Manager Dirk Theimann.
