Strong debut season in the GT Asia Series
Finishing second in the overall competition and the team rankings, and winning the Pro Am Cup title, Phoenix Racing ended its first season in the GT Asia Series successfully.

2016, Ernst Moser’s outfit contested the GT Asia Series for the first time, the most important Asian sportscar championship.

At Buriram, in just the second of six race weekends, Marchy Lee and Shaun Thong clinched their first victory in their Audi R8 LMS. The Hong Kong/Chinese pair repeated this triumph at the halfway event in Okayama.

In the finale at Shanghai, their teammates Alex Yoong and Alex Au clinched a win from pole position in the first race. In the second and last round, Lee/Thong finished runner-up. With that result they became the new vice-champions in the drivers’ classification. In addition to that, Shaun Thong clinched the Pro Am Cup win and Phoenix Racing nailed down second place in the team rankings.
