IronForce Racing X Phoenix expands commitment in Porsche Carrera Cup!
IronForce Racing X Phoenix will enter three cars in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland in the 2022 season! After last year's return, Ernst Moser's team will once again be competing with three cars in the fiercely contested national one-make cup for the first time. The three Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars in IronForce livery will be piloted by Jan-Erik Slooten, Richard Wagner and Dylan Pereira.
"We are further expanding our involvement in the Carrera Cup, as we see the series as an optimum platform for promoting talent," says team boss Moser. "We have already entered two Porsches in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland in the 2021 season and were able to record many strong results and show a strong performance. This year, our goal is now to clinch the title.
" With Dylan Pereira, a Cup driver joins the team from Meuspath, who was already able to claim a victory in the Porsche Mobile 1 Supercup in 2021 and thus prove his abilities. This season, the Luxembourg native will again compete for Lechner Racing in the Formula 1 support program, thus continuing and expanding the cooperation between Lechner Racing and IronForce Racing X Phoenix. Another newcomer to the team from Meuspath is young Richard Wagner. Wagner already completed the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East with Lechner Racing during the winter months and is also part of the cooperation between Lechner Racing and IronForce X Phoenix. Jan Erik Slooten represents the third experienced driver of the team and remains an integral part of the Carrera Cup commitment. Slooten can therefore benefit from two young and fast teammates in the upcoming season, as well as the experience gained in last year's season.
"With our driver trio, we definitely have everything needed to clinch podiums and fight for the title - Dylan and Richard in the overall standings, Jan-Erik in the ProAm standings. All three have a lot of experience with Porsche and are highly motivated for the task ahead," Moser continues. "Dylan and Richard are two young talents who we want to promote and bring in the best possible results. Together with veteran Jan-Erik, we have a strong lineup together."
Germany's fastest one-make cup occupies an important position in the history of Phoenix Racing. Just a few years after the company was founded, the team from the Eifel region decided to enter the Cup for the first time in 2001. The racing team won the team championship straight away and repeated this success the following year. 21 years after its premiere in the championship, Phoenix Racing is looking forward to its return and is doing everything in its power to clinch the title.
