01.12.2017
Joonas Lappalainen, Philip Ellis, Gosia Rdest and John-Louis Jasper will compete in the 24-hour race of Dubai for Phoenix Racing.

We are happy to announce that we will compete in Dubai with a young and skilled team. Behind the wheel of our Audi R8 LMS GT, will be 2016 Audi Sport TT Cup Champion Joonas Lappalainen, who already collected some experience with the car during the test run at the 24h Nürburgring this year. Also, the dominating 2017 Audi Sport TT Cup Champion Philip Ellis will be with us, running his first GT race of his career. With Gosia Rdest another former TT Cup driver joins our squad. The fast girl from Poland will give her Phoenix Racing debut in Dubai, before she will compete with us in the SRO GT4 Europan Championship next year. After scoring a podium finish in the TCR class at the last Dubai 24h race, Gosia aims for another highlight in 2018. The GT4 experienced driver John-Louis Jasper completes our strong line-up. He has proven his speed several times during the past GT4 season by achieving strong results.

"We are looking forward to start the 2018 season in Dubai with the brand new Audi R8 LMS GT. It will also mark the start of our GT4 Juniors program where we will help to develop young and skilled drivers.“ – Ernst Moser

"I'm extremely excited about the new challenges ahead. To do it with a successful team like Phoenix Racing gives me extra confidence and motivation for the 24h of Dubai. I couldn't think of a better way to take my first steps in the GT-world and I'm very thankful for the trust the whole team already put into me.“ – Philip Ellis

"I'm very excited about 24H race in Dubai. It's a great opportunity to prepare for my upcoming season in GT4. Unlike regular racing weekends during 24h race in Dubai we really have a lot of time on the track. I'm going to use that time to get to know the Audi R8 LMS GT and learn its possibilities. As this is going to be my first racing weekend with Phoenix Racing I'll have a chance to get familiar with my new team. I'm very happy to share the car with such experienced and titled teammates. Last year I finished 3rd in TCR class. The aim for this year is to come back with a trophy again. This would make a perfect gift for my birthday which I celebrate a day after the race“. – Gosia Rdest

"I am very excited about the upcoming 24h race in Dubai, that is also going to be the second 24 hour race in my career. I am proud to race in such an experienced team and to have such talented co drivers by my side.“ – John-Louis Jasper
